When is the best time to contact you? I believe it is important that we go into this year as partners in your child's education. To accomplish this, we need to keep the communication lines open. Please email/call me to discuss any questions, comments, or concerns you might have. I am usually easiest to find on email (I can check this from home and my phone): [email protected]. You can call me at (720-554-3657) after school.
When will you assign homework?
Students will be given their weekly (language arts) homework assignments on Friday. I will give the assignment and tell the students the due dates. It is up to your child to organize his/her week based on homework and extracurricular activities. In preparing for middle school, it is extremely important that your child can schedule his/her week in a manner which allows for planned events as well as unexpected circumstances. Math will depend on your child's individual math teacher.
Do your students really need to know all fifty states and capitals?
Yes, and in addition to knowing the state and it's capital the students will be responsible for learning each state's location on a map. Hopefully, they will improve their knowledge of the state's capitals each time they take a test. We will be studying the states during fifth grade and a three tests will be given throughout the year.
When are parent/teacher conferences?
. Sign up will be on Back to School Night. If you were unable to attend, please call or email me to set up a time.
What is the specials schedule?
